Hip Hop media mogul,  Puff Daddy visited Hot 97 Radio, earlier this week to promote his latest effort, “MMM.” Aside from giving an update on his latest business ventures Diddy made some controversial remarks about President, Barack Obama before concluding his interview.  While on the topic of politics, Diddy suggested that President Obama should “pay back†the community that put him in the White House. If you recall correctly, Diddy lead the influential, “Vote or Die Campaign,” which influenced many young Hip Hop fans to vote for President Obama in 2008. However during his interview he expressed some disappointment with the work of President Obama, and his attention given to blacks, stating that, “We got Obama into office, the give back, the deal, where are the things in our community that have gotten drastically better?” He went on to hint to some regret for all of the work that he did with his campaign and suggested that the black community has been shammed because the President hadn’t done enough return the favor back to the black community. He added, “The hugest group of people that get you into office, you have to change their lives for the better. Pick a side, because they got you into office. And if that side just happens to be black people, and you’re black, you still have to do what’s fair.“Black people and people of color are the strongest,†he said, “and we let it go down.†When asked if he thought that President Obama should do more to add more jobs to the black community, he suggested that our President give billions of dollars to Black community instead.
No, no, no, no but it’s like direct aid: unapologetically sending direct aid to black communities. Like, like let’s not try to hide it. Unapologetically spend billions of dollars to uplift black communities and say black people. Let’s stop skirting around everything it is.
Puff made it clear that he wasn’t attacking President Obama, or starting any trouble but he suggested that the President should give “nice parting gifts†to black people before he leaves the White House.
What are your reactions to Diddy’s bold opinion? Do you agree or disagree?
