Colin Kaepernick must be crazy. According to ESPN, the 49’ers quarterback wants to play for the Cleveland Browns. Now a player desiring to play for the Browns is not something Browns fans here too often. The Browns have lost five players through free agency, and some players over the past couple of weeks privately have said that they view playing in Cleveland like going to college. A place where you play for four years max and then depart for greener pastures. TJ Ward anyone?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, The Browns and 49ers have had trade conversations.

To Denver Broncos are supposedly also on the shortlist of suitors for Kaepernick but the Browns have expressed more interest than the Broncos, thus far.

Newly hired Head Coach Hue Jackson was the Oakland Raiders‘ head coach in 2011 when the 49ers drafted Kaepernick. Jackson has said that he and late Raiders owner Al Davis wanted to trade up in the second round to take Kaepernick that year and he was disappointed when it did not happen.

“I think about it all the time, believe me. No question in my mind we wanted it to happen, and no question I thought it could happen. We wanted the kid in the worst way.”~Hue Jackson to Sports Illustrated in 2013

Kaepernick has struggled since reaching the Super Bowl in 2013 but it is fair to say that he could possibly benefit from a fresh start in Cleveland. He should be an upgrade from Cleveland’s current quarterback’s if the team does land him.

What do you think Browns fans? Would you like to see Colin Kaepernick lead the Dawg Pound? Do you think this trade will actually happen?
